Terrible idea. If you want someone to keep provi safe then get a group together and patrol.

Except that we don't have enough impact on Prov to do anything. We can't push people if they are sitting on a chair. We can't damage people and if they really want to mess things up we can't do anything but watch them. Proof is, every mass there is someone who releases a giant bat inside the Church.

You can easily keep the boarders safe. You can find out who is doing it and stop them. Simon is the current person taking claim for it.

For aesthetic and flavor reasons, I wouldn't mind seeing a few redcoat guards standing around. However, I agree with the majority of the thread in that it probably would be best if they weren't actually functional. Best case scenario for any type of town guard would be if some admin decided to form a small brigade of them. Naturally, it would require a lot of micromanaging and I'm not sure if it would be worth the time. Not to mention the whining that would entail if a guard decided to play favorites towards any particular person or faction.

How about the devs role playing as Redcoat Guards? That way you can get rekt by Meow,JC,Marp at the same time in Boston.
