Clay Pot

Ive been trying to put bark into a clay pot filled with water but it doesnt work. It says on the wiki that you have to
1) Put the water filled pot over a cooking fire.
2) Put your items in the pot.
3) Fuel and light the cooking fire if it's not already lit.
4) When the item is done, the picture will change.

i tried those steps and they didnt work.

You need to light the fire before putting the pot on it.

It is highly advised to light the fire before placing the water filled empty pot on it, so that it doesn't bug out and fails to detect the lit fire. Then fill pot with water by either a) left click filled bucket to grab it, right click while holding bucket on the pit, left click empty inventory slot to place bucket back
b) left click empty pot, then right click either a well, water filled barrel or shallow water, then place it back in inventory / lit fire place. Then right click the pot once on the fire, select "open", place bark in empty pot slots and close it, wait and check back later
