What is a squonk?

When out foraging i met a "squonk" when i clicked on it, it digged down in the ground.
What is this thing?

All i see is a tree. A squonk is mob in salem that appears to not agro.

The thing infront of me is the squonk. Now called "squonkpuddle". This is what happened when i clicked it, unfortunatly i do not have a screenshot from before i clicked it.

You killed it, you monster.
Because of its misfitting skin, which is covered with warts and moles, it is always unhappy and the animal weeps constantly. When cornered and escape seems impossible, or when surprised and frightened, it may even dissolve itself in tears.

That would be drinking not eating and you are probably better off putting it in a bucket rather than slurping it off the ground.
