I believe you can stand near skeleton to get infected. Try that. Takes 8 hours so may as well go get some charms yourself. Figure it out is fun

Destroying my homestead didn't do anything helpful except leave me stranded in the middle of no where with no way to travel to providence XD

try porting with an empty inventory? might work

You can't teleport to providence if you don't have a leanto/homestead.

What I did was destroyed my leanto and then wandered around until I found something that could knock me out (snakes work really well) or carrying something above your head drains biles I think.

Then when that KO's you, You'll be sent to providence and can be free to stand near a corpse before switching character (That character will stay logged in due to no leanto).

Repeat until all characters are dead.

it will not free up the character name. Dead characters still block you from using that name.
Given display names, why is the actual name of the character so important to you? You can immediately change its display name to whatever you want it to be.
