Are mountains really rare, or am I doing something wrong?

Postby pingytalk » Mon May 04, 2015 2:35 am

Hiya! My next skill I'm aiming for on my adventurer-alt is "Mountaineering", but I have a question about it.

I haven't really found any steep areas, or even hills. A couple ridges, but nothing sizeable. I searched the forums and found pictures of mountains, but I can't find
any mountains in game or anything that would imply higher altitude areas. Most of the mountain stuff I found was from three years ago, too.

Are mountains still in game? Are they just rare? Is there a method to find them, or are there any near Boston ?

Lol! Mountains are not rare and they are ***** huge. You just need to walk real far to the west there is a mountain rage half way before you hit the Lumberwoods.
Let me tell you this, it is huuuuuuuge and high as *****. Make a rope and carry it with you.
There are surprises up top.
Have fun! (I know I had first time)
Oh yeah also make a map. It shows where the mountain areas are.
You thought I quit.

There are a few small ones about an hour west of Boston. Make a map, it'll show the general range of where they are and how big the Salem map actually is. Also you'll notice a general incline the farther you go and then a series of ledges and steps. They are massive areas with an eventual rocky area biome and then a Snow biome on the very tallest ones. There are generally slopes that will eventually be easier to get up than the ledged area. The snow biome has unique spawns (snowballs, frostflowers, snowflakes confirmed so far).

As the river rolled over the cliffs, my own laughing joy was drowned out by the roaring deluge of the water. The great cataract of Darwoth's Tears fell over and over endlessly.

I woulnd say that is a small one, because the mountain stretches over a large expanse like a L inversed and fallen.
