And this is why the previous idea has its faults, i don't just go hey lets bash this post for no reason, it's just we dont need some exploitable thing where everyone just nitpicks at alts until they find a desirable one with good "perks" if this was really given consideration, have it so learning one "special skill" locks you out of others like a mastery type system, i'm not saying thats a great idea either, but it would at least take effort to some extent to get the desired character traits.

I believe the way they have gone with professions is good enough, they will be adding more I believe. While you aren't locked out of any profession, its hard work to master all of them. I expect there are people that have but even in a moderate size town there may not be anyone who has all of the skills.

You mean Rogue Legacy? That game was great! As was mentioned, I'd rather see a "trait" mechanic tied to in game achievements of some kind. Certain emotes and other cosmetic features that get unlocked as you pass certain milestones. For instance, killing 1k argopelters could give you the "Beak mask" recipe, inflicting 100 curses upon pilgrims would give you the Mark of the Lumberbeast, etc. I like the idea of having traits that are earned through player actions. Randomized and permanent traits at character creation? Not so much. People will just reroll until they get the traits they want.

If we did something like this it would not be spammable as in you know your character has this trait when you create it. Do you know you have a talent for music when you're born? A debilitating digestive disorder? An allergy? That you're a quick draw? You have to grow up a bit and start living first. I'm not saying any of this is in the game or that it ever will be, but that's how it would be done, probably. And it's an idea that I rather like.

Reminds me of when I was trying to stick with an otherwise amazing Russian general in Europe total war, that was sadly inbred and had some other nasty traits xD he did wreck in the end luckily, so worth the other hassle.

I like how it'd be decided for me, that my character is either gay or albino.

Albino would be a tricky one to implement, as one would assume you don't just discover one day that you're albino xD But your character could have never really pondered the plumpness of male posteriors until he saw some of the natives' bums, and realized that his own kind also has somewhat dashing men! xD
