I think i have never, and i mean "NEVER", been idle why playing salem, there is "ALWAYS" something to do, or something to side track you off your current task.

Really you are playing this game wrong.

Mmm, nothing stopping you from doing other things as you study, it's actually a much more efficient use of food to do something which drains Phlegm at the same time. I suppose hunting would be another option. Game mechanics do not require you to be idle whilst studying, if they did I would see your point.

But you can't make everyone happy. I enjoy the game for its innovative game mechanics, and its differences. It's not just another glossy looking version of WoW. But I firmly believe that games producers these days funnel way too much money into graphics to the detriment of game content and storyline.

SHHHHHH
Don't give the dev's an excuse to keep sub-par graphics if there's an option for better down the road lol

It sounds to me like this player just couldn't grasp the beginning concepts of this game like raising black bile and getting logic. Perhaps he should go to The Reservation and learn the ropes so that this game is at least the 2nd or 3rd to worst game he has played.

This is the part where it simply makes no sense. Your statement might be true for the early game when you still have to buy a lot of skills to be able to do more stuff, but at that part studying inspirationals is really fast even with 5 BB. Later on when you have higher proficiencies it might take longer to study an inspirational, but by then you should have A LOT of stuff to do while you're studying.

The first thing i did in this game is study literacy and formal education, i kept food to keep black bile 'full' and it took a very long time t learn new skills, me and a few other players hd set up a camp, crafted everything we could, but were IDLE until we could learn those new skils. And guess what? Even with a high level inspiration in your inventory, you have to spam inspirations to raise a particular profiency as there is a cap of 500 on each one. As for using gluttony and having a farm etc to pump ou food to feed this, that is all end game, and while i played with several other people, there was no global chat and the experience was quite lonely. Communities cannot form or come together naturally as they would in another game, I had to stalk boston to find people and then often would find it difficult to play with them as people woud not have access to settle, so we were constantly walking. All in all this doesnt feel particularly different from smurf village (the 2d graphics are at least better in that), a game i bought for my baby nephew.

Edit - Even if they are a on a low budget they could get creative with graphics, cel shaded characters and environments or pixel tile sets. 3D graphics are over rated, especially when they are this bad.

I was actually, as there was alot of hype and i had a two day gaming binge with different sorts of people i found in boston. I had a chance to play in a working village for a while. I would rather not waste any more time on it as i see it now.
