Can't research Hideworking

I have enough experience for each of the prerequisites:

Just as a reminder, Hideworking requires:
Hammer & Nail: 300
Hunting & Hideworking: 1625
Thread and Needle: 500

I currently have:
Hammer & Nail: 1600
Hunting & Hideworking: 1700
Thread & Needle: 950

Am I missing something? Is there a skill that prerequisites this (other than Small Game Hunting, which I have)?

Otherwise flabbergasted. The game won't let me buy it. In fact, its redded out, as if I have a stat whose maximum is still lower than the requirements. Help?

The only time i've seen something similar happen is when i've KOed and lost proficiencies, without the UI updating the loss of said proficiencies. So while it says your max cap is 1700 it might've gone down to 1600? Should relog to check.

Happened to me before. It said 1700 bit the proficiency said 16. Don't know if that helps.
