We are back....
For the record you could interpret the server status in the following way.
Crashed: We are trying to investigate how, why, what made it crash, and implement a solution.
Terminate: We are trying to Save all the data on the live server so that when we do restart there is no rollback of any kind. When the server stays on "Terminate" for more than 5-10 minutes we typically have a larger problem that requires a larger downtime to preserve data.
Shutdown: The server is ready to be rebooted, we are probably just pushing other patches, backing up data, or doing other things related to the 'fix'.
In this case, the crash was related to a bug where when splitting a rotten log it was possible to try to 'destroy 'the log 'twice' under certain circumstances.
