People do buy silver. I imagine they like the convenience of not having to collect it in game or try to sell something.

Silver remains the highest bought item on our store.

Even if I don't see myself buying silver, just maybe some of the packs with store unique items, it still doesn't surprise me that silver is the top purchased product. Silver can get you most of the other things in the game, which isn't true for regular items. It's a reason our forefathers moved away from bartering and over to the monetary system after all. In addition it's convenient for people that feel they are too busy to dedicate enough time to the game to earn silver through in-game means, or really want to get a headstart in regards to setting up claims etc. There's too many reasons to list really, be creative.

Still, with that said, the store could need to be fleshed out some more, so many missed opportunities. As an economist it makes me itch. *sobs*

If you think you have some good ideas for store packs, you can make a thread about it. We do listen to such things. :D

Why hasn't the tall tophat been put onto the store already? I remember JC saying he was probably going to do it in february, maybe he forgot.

Well, I've nagged about this before, but just make sure you guys have an appropriate beginners pack in store by the time you launch. Anything else there's time to figure out. ;3

Some essential things that should go into such a beginner pack should be an inspiration recovery potion (such as a Rubbery Mescaline Refresher) and a claim deed (perhaps a special one that provide a bit larger starting areal and with the full rent paid). I would also suggest adding some essential starting tools (axe and shovel particularly, preferably metal tier), then maybe a selection of low-level gluttony items that have no food group penalty. And of course a couple of inspirationals. Just don't add silver to the pack, that will just eat up your current silver sales. Be creative. It doesn't need to be as powerful as the other packs if you price it lower. A discount week during release might give it some extra advertisement as well.

Other than that I would love to see a selection of small inventory-containers (i.e. containers that can be carried inside your inventory or placed in other containers) available in the store. For example a nail-box, capable of storing a small quantity of nails. I'm quite sure such things that would help players keep their items better organized would be desired by many (including myself) - just like how the ample storage skill was a breath of relief for many. Can't be underlined enough how fantastic those storage bins are. Thank you! (Though with that said I'd love to see them mass store woodblocks too though. but I digress)

On the one hand, a newbie pack sounds interesting. But on the other hand, it would remove a few of the early milestones like getting enough silver for that first nail, or working for the skills or silver to acquire your first iron tools. I'm not sure if we want to take away from any of that early development.
