Also we still are in beta, so we pretty much are the test server XD

That is for a little longer!

how MMOs Work

Join a Test Server
Find a Bug
Report Bug
Bug gets Fixed
Server/Patch goes live

How Salem Works

Join Test Server
Find a Bug
hide it till Patch goes live
abuse it till JC finds out about it

Speaking of instability, 97% load, ruh-roh.

Just for the record, the load metric is close to useless for any practical purpose. I hardly even know why I put it on the server status page. The only reason I added it was as a kind of very loose heuristic for when we were running multiple servers, to show people which server might be best to join if otherwise in doubt. It uses a variety of metrics to try and display that, but it says very little that can be interpreted meaningfully other than purely relative to the "load" of other servers.

It would be interesting if a week or 3 days before the actual patch is released, the test server is open and everyone starts with a high humoured charactacter for pvp pvp-e rampage
Well... that's what a game called tibia does or used to do it was tons of fun

I played tibia for a long time.

Downtime in this game is aggravating in the extreme if you have timers and stuff going on. I wrote down in excell sheets when stuff should be done, but apparently during downtime time, time does not pass server side (this makes sense). So everything gets pushed back for as long as the server is down. This is extremely hard to quantify, so keeping track is next to useless.
