[Wiki] Wiki Suggestion thread

So is there a way to copy the wiki database? I was wondering since I haven't done a lot of complex wiki stuff like templates if I could use such database locally for learning without hosing everything up first?

To my knowledge from what I've seen people whine about no, not in any sort of simple manner. Don't fret over hosing anything up as if you did what I said with copying you'll be 100% fine 99% of the time. Any real errors are probably on my end from either a typo, a missed template, or someone trying to go around the templates. It's all about getting people to actually start doing it. No one should really have to create a page from scratch as the backbone is there to essentially copy/paste the Tribes Wiki, or if necessary a fresh template. When everything is moving forward I'll put time into fixing up the Help::Contributing page and finishing the documentation because there's really no reason to look at it when everything is copy/paste.

Wiki isn't complicated. If you visit mediawiki you'd get a general idea, but really, if you just start copy/pasting and take an eye at what templates are used, the templates source, the original outdated page source, and the page source you're copying, you'll realize the syntax is the same thing copied 100x with all the different proficiency/artifact/etc names. Hell, just take a loot at the info you're deleting, and the info you're copying and you'll probably catch on.

Told you it was really easy. If you get anything acting different, and you'll know, post it here as it means I lazily forgot to fix a template.

Threw affluence and alloying up on the artifact and inspirational artifact templates, and also changed culinary to display as feasting for old artifacts. Up to you guys if you want to change the template and re-add it to existing stuff as feasting, I imagine it'd be better that way anyway.

Edit: Added a feasting property as well, that way both old and new formats will work all the same, LAZY NERDS UNITE.

I been trying to copy and paste and I noticed that some of inspirations seem to be hosed as far as it looks like some of the H&H is getting mixed up with L&L. I'm not quite sure how to fix it atm.

This one is 1200 H&H but in inspiration table it shows up as L&L

The formatting of that page isn't right either and I haven't been able to figure out how that is happening either.

Looks fine to me. Try clearing your cache, although i've no clue how it could possibly display the value of one in another's field, unless someone accidentally entered the value one line too low.

well looking at it some more it seems like the two wiki's are doing the inspirations in a different order and also on the template. Herb and sprouts is first in the order while on the old wiki its last. I would think that have to confuse something.

I am looking at this page also and this is where things don't seem to come out right.

EDIT: Oh right, i thought you meant the inspirational's page. I'll look into it and see about making it smarter if i can, or else let someone else do it

Edit2: It seems the #ask is just returning the old inspirational's values. Did you update it only recently? If so it might just take a while to cache the new one, meanwhile reading up on what might've gone wrong.
