Facebook got the scoop.
Salem on facebook wrote:The cat is out of the bag. Less than a year ago, like many unique niche games in the marketplace, Salem was struggling to get off the ground and give the gaming experience that its fans and advocates knew it could provide. A group of veteran players who prided themselves on possessing an intimate understanding of the title, and were working on a similar title themselves, decided to scrap everything, purchase the remaining shares of Salem from the powerhouse that is Paradox Interactive, and quite simply evolve the game into the masterpiece they always felt it could be. Slowly but surely, Salem's population began to rise, and the player-base seemed to reward the efforts of Mortal Moments for the risk they took. The performance of the title is now operating at nearly 800% compared to the time of acquisition, growing strictly by word-of-mouth due to the positive reception of the sweeping changes made.
The game has and will always be a niche product: a PERMADEATH MMO Sandbox rooted in strong crafting elements and core values aimed at bringing an emotional response to the consequences of poor decisions. While the new team knows that Salem may not be for everybody, for the first time in three years, the game now has an official launch date.
On June 19th, we welcome gamers who have long been searching for this niche to join us in the Lumberwoods!
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
