I appreciate the feedback, and the support. However, you will learn that in these parts if you simply "Make stuff up" to prove a point you will quickly lose any credibility and legitimacy to your concerns. At no point in time has it been stated that a Blood Moon lasts 3-4 days. Until you have experienced the system, and all the faucets to it, the whole sky is falling thing really doesn't do much other than allowing the trolls to feed off you and me to drink your tears.
Also the "I will take my ball and go home" thing doesn't really work in here either. Those who CAN happily take their ball and 'play something else' is not the crowd we are building this game for in the first place. We are catering to those who realize that at this moment in the gaming industry there is quite frankly no alternative. No other game that will punish the player base to stand by their principles and ignore any and all 'common-sense' business to acheve the final product and stay to the core games ideas. A core set of ideals that I, quite frankly, have never seen on the open OR indie market.
Yes making the game harder, and permadeath more of a thing will drive away players & customers. But I stand firm that it will simply drive away players and customers who were 'lost' when they found us in the first place. Not the true souls who call this a home because deep down they crave the very thing most people despise.
All this is all well and good and if you are making a game for the heck of it good on you. I admit I don't know how long the blood moon lasts I was going off the post previous to that one however. If your principle is to make a game with a few targeted people then great you are well on your way to achieving that goal, congratulations. If you are making the "Crafting MMO" that is advertised on the internet then I think you have gotten slightly off topic. This is my opinion and as far as I know I have every right to it.
The "take my ball and go home thing" is neither here nor there I was simply stating my choices and those are still my choices. If I don't like the implementations that you as devs are introducing I have the choice to not play the game and should the point come where I feel it is no longer a "Crafting" MMO but a permadeath MMO then I will assuredly make the choice to play something else, this is not me stamping my foot or throwing my dummy (pacifier) out of the pram but a simple statement of fact.
As already said, if you are making this game for a niche market congrats, if you are making it for a hobby, congrats, If you are making it to be a financially viable and progressive game, IN MY OPINION, you are heading in the wrong direction.
As for it "Driving away player that were 'lost' when they found us" again if this is your intent my sincerest congratulations.
The one part of your post JOHN, that I object to is being called a troll. Every post I have made has been respectful and I have even pulled people up on their attitudes. Since you object to people giving their opinions and their ideas (and since no-one has experienced a blood moon yet and my post was simply an exaggerated version of possible events which was taken as gospel) I will refrain from making further posts on these forums and will play "Your" game til such time as I don't enjoy it anymore.
Again congratulations on achieving your goals as I perceive them.
