Going beyond the inventory weight limit

Postby Kandarim » Mon Mar 30, 2015 11:13 pm

So an alt which was supposed to pick up a bit of water managed to do this:

I thought we weren't supposed to be able to pick stuff up when at max weight? I wasn't paying attention and ended up with that...
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

I assume all this was triggered by filling water from the same spot?

You shouldn't be able to easily add new inventory objects while at max weight. But the transferring of substances might be more forgiving.

yeah, I could do it by clicking the buckets right where I was standing so I didn't need to move to do it.

Soooo, just to close the loop on this.

If I had an alt in "range" of accessing a storage device like a shed and I logged out with it, then logged in with another character and filled said shed with lumber, switched accounts, then loaded the lumber on to my original alt, I've got unlimited theoretical lumber storage? Or are you saying this only works with container-type things like water in buckets? So maybe unlimited flour sacks and flour or cornmeal?

not likely - I think it is limited to waterbuckets (and maybe filling buckets/dry good bags from barrels?) however, the alt would be unable to walk anywhere except VERY slowly (on the order of minutes per tile).

Basically you would die of old age before reaching another storage.

I wouldn't need another storage. I'd log in with the "golden corn alt" or the "wheat flour alt" and load the shed back up. Then log in with the char that would use the stuff and collect it. It's like a shed within a shed next to a dozen other sheds. No movement needed, just a bottomless shed.

The 'golden corn alt' lol. Because everyone needs to store more than a Barrel worth of flour of each type. :|

yeah
it's obviously much more efficient to store the seeds in seedbags in a cupboard. Even if you take just cotton seedbags, that's more than 20 barrel's worth of flour.
