^^ well i like to barter for things. So usually the seller gives me an estimate of how much they want for it and we go from there. If you wanna sell yours id happily buy it.

It is the bartering & trading that ive enjoyed most in Salem. Now i feel silly for selling stuff i have for silver when its worth seem to go down.

Compared to old times silver currently has so much more value.

This is a ridicolous notion. Everything non living has a price in the real world. I dont see why we should compare Salem with other games. Or would you like for us to compare it with games like World of Warcraft and say your sentence about other things ingame?

The person in question did not even consider asking for a Unreal amount of silver or something like that. He merely noted he was not interested in silver.

Let me know what upper echelon of items in the real world you would not be able to buy for dollars. I for sure cant think of any.

When a currency is not worth trading with in a game. The currency is flawed.

Oh and Im paying good silver for A prospectors pan & Butchers knife to anyone who still values Silver.

I can think of many things that you may have trouble buying for real world currency. Organs for example (but you said non living). Art also. Can you buy the Mona Lisa? Places. Can you buy the whole city of Paris or the Parthenon of Athens? Then try to buy some antimatter and tell me how it went.

Well Im pretty sure Most of paris could be sold & bought. Everything is relative.

And organs...Im pretty sure one could purchase one at the "black market".

Same with most of the art.

Anyhow we're merely talkin about tools which are quite easily gained and should have a similar worth as silver =/= real money. Prices fluctuate of course but still.

Well as someone else here noted. Its getting rarer that high end stuff getting sold for silver. I have been looking for a prospectors pan for quite some time now. I've so far had 2 people selling but neither one would give me a price theyd like in silver for it.

You are aware that people trade tools all the time correct?

Have you tried proposing them 3k? If they refuse 4k then 5 etc. As you said it's all relative. Relative to the price you are willing to put. Silver, just as any other currency, as its value linked to the value people are willing to attribute to it. It's basic economics. If you think silver has lost value just increase the prices and you solve the problem.

I would have no problem with those numbers Argentis. Getting just a No when you ask how much they want in silver is quite dishearthening.
