Inspiration mechanic needs to be changed!

Postby solvic » Fri Mar 27, 2015 12:28 am

I came back to Salem after a two year break and Im enjoying getting back into the game.
But this "Inspiration" timer is FAR to slow, so much so im finding myself having to log off to wait for it to build up just to get the early skills.
Please tell me im missing something?? like a food boost,? apart from the 3 skills that boost it a magget amount. Please change/tweek this as it makes the game like one of these timed app sim builders.
And while im moaning ;) whats the story with the fishing hook ? you train fishing then can use it till you train another 3 skills= another 2-3days training...

Id be happy to pay a sub if this timer was made faster, I understand the idea behind it but its a pain at this speed,

Potions restore them. Go buy some potions and you don't even have to wait anymore.
Use same curios more than once double the cost.
Heard of the Learning Optimizer? Head to Artifice :)
Have fun!

Thread has 100% nothing to do with HoB

You need to increase your biles and learn about the potions. There is nothing wrong with inspiration, it does not need to be changed.

Thankyou, im happy there is a work around, my bad for missing the potions but tbh its not a good mechanic and seems to only punish new players?

If you try to develop your character in a one-sided way, only increasing proficiencies and learning skills, you will have a slower time of it. Try taking some time to learn and use Gluttony. Increasing your Black Bile will greatly increase your Inspiration regeneration rate. Or, you can buy some potions.

This mechanic actually helps new players as it tends to slow the older players a lot more than the newer, making it easier for newcomers to catch up.

Also look at the inspiration cost of an item - don't study singing logs at all, they are not worth it on low levels any more.

also you dont need to constantly gain new skills, you can develop a base, glutton, make boards, cook food, trade, forage, scavenge, mine etc... so much to do.. whilst ur inspiration regains.

That's what id love to do m8 but to mine you need a lot of skills learned, iv built a base to the best of what I can craft and spent most the day terraforming land, iv piles of bits and bobs from forage and scavenging, I do raze my glutton but that has a timer too. and im not a noob to the game iv pumped alot of hours into the old game. run for my life from the tribe many time :P anyway ill get me some potions and get on with it..

There is one thing not mentioned yet, logic skills give you faster inspiration rate
