I like the basic idea of the Disease mechanic but there are 3 real problems with it:

1. Noobs tend to get diseased really early in the game because they don't know to avoid all the sick people in town. They generally get hit and then don't have the skill or general information on how to deal with it. They get extremely frustrated just trying to figure out why they can't play without being sick. Especially since the wiki is so spotty now.

2. The mechanic where it's harder to get better if you try all the cures out of order. This isn't really explained anywhere but the wiki and again, that's not always on anymore.

3. Some of the disease cures are easy, but some are sort of tough to find if you don't know where to look. If a noob ports into the wrong biome and then gets sick in Providence they could be pretty confused as to how to find leeches or columbine.

I hope they fix all of this for noobs in the new patch. It sounds like they are so we'll see.

It is possible to find the required mats for ALL of the cures without ever leaving the Providence claim, assuming the player can at least kill bunnies and gather bark from a tree.

They'd have to leave it for clay for a pot to boil bark and it would be pretty hard for a noob to find a leech on the tiny swamp on Providence not to mention a grinder to make them and a cup or canteen to drink the bark tea.

Jackolope Antlers are a rare drop.

I made a grinder in town...I even had a Medical office...Some naked russian speaking fellow took them 3 weeks after. A shame really since anyone could have used that grinder.

I wouldn't mine remaking the medical office and even place a clay pot in the fireplace where the office use to be, but people would keep stealing them just out of spite XD

It's too bad that characters holding things don't have a larger hit box. In theory you could make a fence complex that lets anyone inside, but the access portal is too small to allow a character carrying an object overhead to pass. Then you could bring in the materials for whatever liftable thing, build it inside, and it would remain there.

This is probably way too nice of a thing.

Maybe some way to make liftable things NOT liftable. Like a tether or anchor? Could even be lockable for securing canoes on unclaimed lands. Nah, probably WAY too nice...

I'm not saying ALL portals, just certain ones for that purpose. In a large town, for example, a sawbuck could be centrally located and through the use of a special gate or anchor, wouldn't be able to be removed so that it would always be there for the residents. Or a grinder. Or an anvil. Or a tanning tub.

Continue using regular gates if you don't want to endure the feature.

I don't understand what I've overlooked, could you please explain?

I guess I could sneak on to your land and lock your stuff down. Like putting a boot on your car tire!
