Mining in the darkness

Just curious but is there anything special about mining in the darkness? Like in terms of rare ores or something like that.

Please don't confuse 'special' with 'good'.

Don't worry i fully understand. Even if its a rock monster or something it'd be awesome. Kill it then maybe harvest special ore from it or something.

There hopefully will be nothing special gained from killing them, just one more thing to make living in the darkness harder for good Christians.
