[Tutorial]How to Prevent Inspirational Scam

Postby Heffernan » Tue Mar 24, 2015 5:51 pm

Hello, as some people have already got scammed by stalls selling 7use Inspirationals that only have 1 use left i though id make a tutorial on how to check if there fake

1) go home and deposit all silver away so u cant buy anything
2) go to the stall with the inspirationals like here -> http://game.salemthegame.com/mt/ss/efda ... e3edaefde2
3) repeatedly click the inspiratonal "buy" button you want over and over and over, it will say no silver but for a brief 100/second of a time it will move the item to your inventory, so if you click on the "buy" button a few dozend times you can see the inspirational in your inventory for a brief second and also see the uses left.

hmm i'll have to test whether this can't be sploited.
for science, of course.
Weird that it actually turns up in your inventory for a couple of seconds, even though the server says you don't have enough silver.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

it doesnt show up for a couple of second, but like a few 100s of a second, meaning you cant take it steal drop or anything, you cant even see it most of the time, just every now and then.

it's actually there every time you click, but usually it disappears before a single rendering iteration happens.
Haven't (yet) managed to abuse it client-side :)

Possible that it can create a copy of the stuff?
Heff, set up 40 alts that auto click on your stall 5000 times per minute. Put golden bar inside. Try to crash the server and report to us if you get the bars ¦]

i'm not abusing, i'm testing

edit: wasn't able to abuse it to steal items, so i'm decently sure it's not possible.
