The REAL question to ask yourself is if I was secretly changing my disease every time he offered a cure specifically so it wouldn't work and to see if I could reach the limits of his helpfulness.

JohnCarver wrote:The cures are tooltipped and say what disease they cure do they not? Is it not 'discovery' then to figure out which diseases are presenting what sysmtoms? Surely the information got on the wiki through in-game discovery as I do not believe I shared that information so to pretend that it cannot be 'rediscovered' doesn't seem logical. All we are discussing now is if it should be 'easier' to discover it, which I think undermines the focal point of your argument if it were simply 'hover over the diseases icon and get a pop-up of what to take, or some such.

The problem is that taking wrong cure makes it harder to cure the disease. So if a noob wants to cure himself, without resorting to the knowledge posted on wiki, and tries different cures in most cases he will not be cured at all. And continuing experiments will only make it harder to cure the disease. And he won't have a clue why. You haven't shared the information about which cure fixes which symptoms, but this knowledge was discovered when there were no penalties for trying a wrong cure.

To figure out a proper cure a new player would have to make 4 alts, get them all diseased and attempt to cure each with different cure. But! I could design such research process only because I already know the mechanic. New player knows nothing. If at least there was some feedback information that wrong cure was taken...

This is simply not true. Asking question anywhere else but the Help forum would in most cases give troll answers. In fact, tutorial should warn people about that too.

Why are we debating one of the many ways to permanently die in a perma-death game..? You are suppose to die. You are green behind the ears until you die at least five to ten times in H&H and Salem. I don't see the point in caring for those who think it ruins the game.

Might as well add the ability to drown to piss off more folks to make the easy way, and number one way to commit suicide in H&H, to commit suicide in Salem. People take that for granted on fresh alt.s all the time yet never would in H&H.
Keep calm and stay peachy.

Why do people spend so much time complaining about things that they think could theoretically be a problem without even trying to see if they actually are.

Both your "interpretation" of my posts and your comment seem so detached from my actual posts that I'm not even sure if you read them. What mechanics exactly do you have on mind, and why do you assume I don't understand them?
It's as if you saw someone talking about diseases, automatically assumed they are complaining about the mechanic and then proceeded (without actually reading) to make a witty remark to both humiliate other person and show how experienced / elite you are.

This is not true. And shows that you have no idea what you are talking about.

I believe you yourself have quoted JC:
JohnCarver wrote:There is now a worse overall chance you will be cured for every wrong cure you take. Do it right or die. The choice is yours.

In most cases I think what Procne is trying to say is that statement. Not strictly "Not be cured at all."
So yeah, you guys maybe misunderstanding each other.
