Your information on Town Bells is outdated. You don't need one if you're a hermit. We've increased the price of the bell enough that most people won't try to eminent domain you unless your claim looks like a treasure trove of hoarded goods. Don't be a treasure trove of hoarded goods, have decent defenses, and you'll probably be safe (nothing you do will ever guarantee safety, not even having a bell).

Town bell is the same as it is for H&H: Mid to late game. Usually mid point that not many people shoot for as it provides little unless you like extra defenses. Like Meow said don't look like you are worth raiding. If you want better tips on that then read Shrimp's guide as it basically covers what most folk look toward. Keeping your claim un-claimed is the worst thing due to folk such as myself seeing it our divine right tot take everything and burn the rest to the ground. If you want an early way to make it look like you are less advanced then center yourself around your mine and store everything in it. That way you can simply look like a fresh scrub who only has but gotten a mine. The only folk who will know the difference being your neighbors. The reason behind this being that there are folk who do, and still do, drop town bells over good sized personal claims when they think they'll get their money back. (Less likely in Salem now due to price but if dedicated they will damn well do it.)
Keep calm and stay peachy.

I've gone back and forth on adding this idea to the guide, the problem with the mine is that it can't be claimed, so if someone does check mines, I know I do, they can take as much as they want without losing BB or leaving scents. All they leave is trespassing which can't be summoned/stocked. I don't know. What do you think?

If you have a bell you avoid Eminent Domain and then Enemies will have to ACTUALLY fight through your base which took you months to build defenses instead of them just dropping a bell, IMO top 5 groups would rather drop a bell and paid 15k to screw you over than chances of losing a char
