NCAA Tournament

Postby Dallane » Sat Mar 21, 2015 5:10 am

For you guys watching how ***** is your bracket? I'm fairly ***** atm due to picking the wrong upsets. I'm hoping that the next upsets I have along with Kentucky and Duke cleaning house.

Who do you have winning it all? Big Blue Nation checking in. Aka the Roman Empire of college basketball.

I don't do the bracket stuff. Odds of picking, even for the biggest hoops nerd, is just too astronomical to screw with.

On that note, my (would be) alma mater won their game today (if I could ever get in these last few classes required to graduate). Not looking forward to the game Sunday, and if we win that, then still have to face Kentucky :( Still, if we can pull off a win vs UK, then winning it all is going to be easy.

My only advice is to bet on single games. :?

Never had any luck the first time I tried it and would rather place a 50/50 on a single game; at least thing I can have a chance at making some money. Though I can't really say much more as I prefer blackjack compared to bets. Feels better knowing I lost my money due to my foolishness rather than hoping someone's team would win me money. Can't blame no one but yourself then in my case! XD

Isn't sports betting illegal in USA? I just finished reading a book on horse racing that claims you can only bet on other sports in Nevada.

This is were Federal regulations and States' rights get grey in general. All gambling is legal, per say, yet may be regulated if not completely outlawed by states, their counties, and even down to their village ordinances. A lot of states have gambling spread out, mostly cities, due to old "tradition (Eh, ***** basically. Moral **** people still believe and what not.) or what not making folk want these laws. For instance a major grey area being online gambling in the U.S.; some states have out right bans on it while you can play in that state online if the server is not hosted in it. This kind of gives you an idea how odd and grey this area is. Though it usually boils down to the government, any form, not getting its share of them monnies.

Everyone likes monnies. Its like snacks. New world order **** right there.

It's mostly a grey area and different in every state.

In Texas licensed dog/horse tracks can only do so many races a year. Indian casinos operate without too much hassle. There are also gambling cruises which take you out into international waters for the day and then back to Texas. What I'm during currently is usually just friendly office bets. Everyone throws 10$ in for their bracket and we trash talk.

Really it's foolish and we should be able to gamble as much as we want. I hate having ONLY ONE casino in the entire state of Texas. The location of the only one is directly on the boarder with Mexico. I don't want to go anywhere near that place.

Back on topic.......I hope Kentucky blows everyone up so I can talk crazy trash at work.

The games so far have been really entertaining. They are all coming down to a few point at the last 3 mins. Belmont ALMOST had Virginia then VA turned up at the last 3 mins and Belmont gave up making silly mistakes. I still can't believe that one dude goal tended a 3 point shot at the last few seconds of the game. Ended up losing for his team bad.

Dallane illegal betting reported. 911 took note. GGWP.
On a serious note, even though betting is mostly illegal, after a sport season here in America you can head to the pawns and get dirt-cheap stuff.
'nuff said.

Only over "wires" ie phone, internet, etc. It's not so much stopped at the player level, but rather at the bank level when a person tries to cash out their account. Bankers can get up to 10 years if I recall right for processing payments from online casinos and gaming sites. Several people have been indicted on wire fraud and money laundering trying to hide payments made to gamblers. After the "Black Friday" shutdown of the four largest poker sites in the US, there's been a lot of legal mess over site seizures, even sportsbooks. The law in question was from 1962, when the mob (and other organized crime) pretty much ran the casinos and books. Now it's a lot of North Amercian tribes running the casinos and books, or they're sanctioned in places like Ireland and Cayman Islands, where the US doesn't have any authority.

You can also cash out with Canadian banks.

NCAA related: Ohio State had a amazing 1st half then didn't want the win. Was fairly pissed when I saw that they let their tempo down because I had them winning. Big upset with villanova. I picked them to lose cept not the right team to lose too =/
