Seriously, they look like they are drinking milkshake or something tasty.

Comes to beer thread, implies beer isn't tasty. Let's lynch him!!

American beer has come a long way in the last 20-30 years, and I say some of the microbrews are the best beers in the world now. Even the major producers are jumping on that bandwagon finally.

Different regions do have different tastes, though, and they're all good in their own way. You just have some mash-up in the "colonial" regions: US, Canada, Australia, etc.

I must do a long ass beer / barbeque food tour to US one day. I've always dreamed of having some genuine American steak food.

Exactly. Once you get out of the budweiser trash tier there are some amazing beers around.

I've been wanting to brew for awhile after looking at my friends set up. So much awesome booze with little investment.

I think grand total a 5 gallon batch, which translates to about 2 1/2 cases, comes out to around $10-$15 a case. compared to the 35+ a case of microbrew usually costs. Not to mention its almost impossible to really screw up no matter what all the books on the subject say. I love it

From knowing more than a few home brewers, it is easy to screw up when you're new. Most of those mistakes are usually problems that you're likely to only make once, and possibly not at all, if you have someone around that knows what they're doing. (Exploding bottles is one of the funniest and worst.)

There are 2 things in life that I irrationally fear. The first is a guitar string snapping and catching me in the eye (I came extremely close to this happening in high school). And the second is an exploding bottle, WHILE I'm trying to cap it. When I first read that it "could" happen, I started to look at every bottle like a shrapnel bomb.
