Multiple claims, and other questions

Postby tkbuffalo » Sun Mar 15, 2015 6:05 pm

So I have a house built, have a claim and land, however, are you able to have more than 1 claim.
For instance, im running a small farm now, but have found a possible mining area fairly close to my homestead...but too far to put within my claim.

Also, is it possible at all or not to be able to have your other characters within the game to move closer to each other to form a much larger claim of land? If so, how is this possible?

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

You can have multiple claims, but only one homestead, you can also bring all your friends together and make one big claim and give everyone permissions, or have them each make their claims 3 tiles away from each other, but in reality if you have a group of people wanting to join up a town would be a much better idea.

You can have multiple claims with one character. If you want your other characters or your friends to come to your plot you should:
a) Make yourself a homestead secret (Do not share it to anyone but your friends if your homestead is bound to a claimstone. Think of it as a password.)
b) Bound yourself to the Claimstone (Use as homestead).
c) Tell your friends to use the Wood Guide by using your Homestead Secret.

Do not forget to rebound yourself to a Leanto after that as it is much safer. People can destroy your claimstone after themselves or someone else has teleported on it.

If your friends or other characters have already used the Wood guide, the only way is to walk to your claim. For that form a party, An arrow will point towards them for you and towards you for them. Ask them to walk in that direction. It might take a while (read a few hours). Also please take note that you might see the X of your party members on the minimap. It is sometimes buggy and appear closer than it really is. A solution is to log out/log in and reinvite everytime to fix it.

It's probably better, if you trust your friends, to pool together on a single claim and share permissions, than to buy 3 seperate claims as they can't be built directly next to each other. In the long run you will run into security issues that way.
