I can't believe more people aren't saying BRICKS. Boards should obviously be a high priority one, and then coal. I would like to see salt changed to weight so we can store it in dry goods bags and barrels, also so some recipes can use slightly less or slightly more than 1 chunk or 2. If tea leaves could be measured by weight as well, that would be great. I think the most important ones are
Boards
Bricks
Stones
Ore

For me the hay stack is so badly wrong, a haystack is mass storage IRL but in game it is a frame for drying the hay.

Being able to create large pieces of cloth would be nice, especially if you needed to do so to sell it to the NPC. Perhaps requiring 100 cotton to produce a roll of cloth that we can sell for 150 silver, and small pieces were reduced to 10 silver.

generic stone pile that takes any stone, just make a different pile for different stone/rubble

generic ore pile that takes any ore

generic ingot pile for any metal.

generic "bushel" that stores any produce/crops

generic board pile that takes any board including fresh/moldy/warped

generic "icehouse" that takes any animal carcass (and would work like carts/sleds where a small bundle is placed, house would store maybe 50 bundles) (would also be fun to make an ice req, meaning folks have to travel to a mountain range to collect a few pockets of snowballs and recall back home to put them in the icehouse to fill up a "fuel" meter)

would also be nice if we could continuously load boulders into crushers instead of having to wait for the existing one to finish.

the above would be relatively few additions and would cover the majority of folks problems.

I disagree with some of what you said. First off don't say that hay stacks are bad or JC will take them off and I remember the time when all the hay was made through collecting or planting grass. You don't want that. Then for reducing the price of cotton I disagree. Along with savage charms it is one of the few ways a newbie can make money. Taking it back for the Noob Patch would be wrong imo. Otherwise I'd like salt to be changed like you said but I'm not sure it can be done as flour, gold flakes and all the dry goods can't be picked up in the wild. That would seriously hinder how you can get salt. I'm sure no one wants to buy salt at the Chef's stall.

If you drop a pile of flour you get a 3d model you can pick up, I don't see why a foragable should be any different.

Ok, I am just being fussy about haystacks really, it doesn't matter much.

I don't think that would be a problem. Foragable game object is something different than item's object. Just see how many foragable herbs have different models when foraged from the foraged item that you drop.
In any case, we could have the salt changed so that we forage (or maybe even find when sifting) small rocks of salt (maybe of varied size too?) that we can grind into... uhm... dust (?) salt which would behave as a dry good.
Maybe filthy muricans like to add dirty salt they find on the ground directly to their meals. But not us, noble pilgrims from Europe

I concur. Maybe add a mechanic where you can gather salt from the salty water of the sea or the salt swamps across Providence.

What about keeping acquisition of salt the same but making in grindable on a grindstone, thus making it able to be carried in a dry goods bag or stored in barrel?
