I Don't know to kill Crickets

So i haven't played Salem for a year , back in the day i used Stomp , now i see its no longer there .

I have seen a lot of out of date tutorials some say i need a slingshot , i don't think we can craft slingshots anymore
I managed to kill some rabbits with Roundhouse Kick but Crickets are too fast

Can anyone tell me how to do it pls

Bug hunting now unlocks stomp if i'm not mistaken.
