i always wondered.... if you create loads and loads of silver by making coins yourself can't you just wall a scent? aka place a starter corner of a brickwall on the scent to make it unseen and unaccessable (until whoever wants to collect the scent has 400+ biles and creates scents himself) ?

Most of i am afraid, is that the scent get's droped if you choose to use fake coins at stalls or bank or other npc, so the scent would be in town. if it stay's where the coin is made, i see no problem doing it in mine, somewhere far away and after done, cave in entire way. given how you can just endlessly make more mine levels and pretty much hide whatever you want.
