John what is a good defence? no one knows that, until he gets robed and quits the information may be somewhere but shattered all over the place.
Should i build three levels of wall three locked gates, and double sets of braziers covered with trees + of course a town clime so that no one can cancel my personal clime.
Or can i just take the most valuable items into back pack and log out in town? will that work or will someone summon me whan offline and pick pocket?
Im not complaining i understand your point. But you asked " A noob is going to quit when....."
And my answer is when he gets robbed and can't prevent it in ANY way thats no fun.
I hope that this guid pistolshrimp is making "how even noobs can protect themselves" will save some lives.

example from : Mine your own business thread
New mining system... i know i could now look for gems i rubble and that i need mineral sifting skill that's in announcement
but what skill do you need to learn mineral sifting? The answer is in the thread but you need to look for someone with the same problem who asked...
Thats a new skill so ok, but some skill requirement change and no body knows until they look at 2 wiki pages and notice it
also things like this:

The amount of iron yields in the ore smelters has indeed changed."
Ok you wont us to figure out yourself how finery forge or ore smelter works. Exploring is fun yes.
But if i'm completely new player who doesnt know that wiki is outdated it will be a little confusing when i do everything the way wiki says and still get different result.
How to solve this problem put a hit in announcement that "ore smelters has indeed changed" so that someone taking care of wiki can mark that.
The other thing is trust when trading.
Trust and risk are 2 totally different things.
Trusting is giving someone a way to harm you and hoping they wont use it.
Smart person will try to limit his openings to minimum, "no one can harm me if i dont let them".
Taking risk from time to time is ok sometime you gain sometime you loose,
i have also traded in this game but but as you said only with good reputation traders (girls lol no).
Uncontrolled risk is killing the fun for me.
