This isn't a bug so much as a bit of a design issue the devs haven't had time to adjust yet (they are aware of it). The best I can do is point you to a couple of threads in the Help! section. As per your statement, you've read a couple of these, so I'm not sure linking any more will help. I don't think any of our video guys have done instructional videos on it yet, either.

This does, however, belong in Help! and not Bugs. Moving thread.

Did u try to use CTRL while setting up the stove? and perhaps mark the squares on the ground when u use bd or enders client? This helps mostly.

I suppose it is game bug. It is easy to get level to have a stove, but spent a whole week to place it. Is there any help to solve this problem. I read every item in HELP and tried everything, but it doesn't work.

as far as I remember, there is actually a tooltip in-game for how to best put it.
I think I did it like this:

1) stand in your house, with a clear walk to where the stove should be put (nothing in your way, but not too close either! halfway your house should do)
2) bring up the stove shadow (the preview of how it will be built)
3) press shift, and rotate the mousewheel to snap the stove to the grid, as it should be put. release shift
4) place the stove as you would assume it should be.
5) press ctrl, and move the stove ONE click towards the building door. Not TWO, not one to either side, exactly one towards the door.
6) build it. (now you can release ctrl)
7) enjoy your plank steak

I believe (I've only ever placed 2 stoves, hehe) that you also have to stand directly in front of the spot where the stove should be. Snapping to grid never worked for me, using the Enders client.

HELP to place STOVE

Postby Gurong » Mon Oct 29, 2012 6:46 pm

Hi. Please help to place the stove in any house. It doesn't work anywhere. I have read the advices here, i wrote to Bugs, but IT DOESNT WORK. I have no idea how to do it. As i see it is purely bug in this game. So many people get and tired of placing the stove and only some of them can do it, What a problem to give step by step instructions, maybe with pictures HOW to do it in right way. I have spent 4 days to place it and i have no result at all. Only the awful sound and sign YOU CAN'T BUILD THERE.
SOMEBODY HELP WITH THIS!!!!
