I admire people who make an effort, so that the most mundane things could become special.
Even if it's just for a fleeting moment.

Argentis wrote:Hello,
I just saw that you got robbed. I am sorry for you. I was personally quite interested in your adventure and I do hope that you will find this filthy thief.
I also saw that you were thinking of moving out. I recently founded the town of Endenia's Jewel and we seek brave young souls like yourselves. If you need protection we may be able to provide it for you (or at least I, as the others are still young sprouts dreaming of being the tallest trees in the forest, just like you are I would presume). I've started building the town for a bit more than a week now so we do not have the best infrastructure around but we do have pioneering spirit.
Are you able to come on the Ventrilo Chat Server so we could discuss?
Even if you choose not to join us you may wish to give that server a chance as it provides great opportunity for the survivors and hermits of this world.
Best regards,
Tynendir Endeniel.
Murphy wrote:On this regard, I sure hope you keep tracking. I'm so sorry the server crashed! Not that it's my fault!(it really was not me), but please do keep your story up!
If you're interested in joining a growing group of both peaceful farmers and not so peaceful, let's call them foragers, feel free to PM me and we can work something out.
Good luck on all your future journeys!

might be worth it trying to go from Providence anyway.
RedVIII wrote:If you have an alt character which can go to providence, I will give to you a rope, even if it don't reach you while in the track of the thief. Canoe is still too much for me, I can't make it yet (I can, but don't have the resources).

I don't have much silver, because I’ve start playing again after long time break (after the destruction of my entire noob base on Plymouth one and a half year ago).
But I would give you some of my silver for the justice!
You are great, and I wish I would have been like you at that time I was robbed.

King_Nothing wrote:Sure thing, we don't need to kill him. We might loot him to some degree, but the customer is always right, so we will spare his life! Depending on who it is, he may lose a hand, but we'll see. Either way, kin me for now: "******”
Cheena wrote:Where is your mine? Do you have a smelter? Why isn't your stone wall finished? No lock on your door?
Well by looking at your picture, if the thief entered it's because your door wasn't locked. Also, to track a criminal, the best is to have a world map, to check from providence where the tracks lead, and then from your homestead, and then from a third place. The third place often being complicated, you can still have a big cross on the map from Providence and your homestead.
But that's not exactly the reason I'm messaging you during your travelling. Actually, looks like you've been walking for a little while there. So I thought you'd have a good load of map tiles.
I myself have a little map of Providence. It's a bit outdated as I haven't travelled the lands in a long time, but I could help you finding your way out, especially now that you reached that mountain.
So, I'm asking for a deal: I offer you my whole map against your map tiles. Not only that, I can also help you finding where your thief lives if you want to.
- (if you're not afraid of me because it implies you give me your HS) some help tracking down your thief (with the map, not personally)
- Whatever advice you'd need (that's actually free, and totally bonus, I don't need your map for that :p)
Have fun and stay safe whatever your decide

Darn, that's funny because... Well when I started playing Salem, I was just using the wilderness guide and just build my base around the place he found for me.
At the start of this server... Well I knew I should NOT do that and just start walking from Providence until I find the pefect place to settle. That way I had a map, I knew where I was towards Providence, and from that, do whatever I want.
Cheena wrote:Houston we have a problem!
...I have not the singlest clue of where you can be. My bet is that you live in the north of the map, and I happen to have very few tiles up there. Soooo... I'll keep searching for the match, but... grmbl.
Anyway I'll give you a quick tutorial on how to track. And my map. Try not selling it or giving it to the first dude that asks for it... there are bases on it that may not want to be found. Like mine xD

Be right back, painting the scent tracking tuto
Cheena wrote:A track recipe.
You need :
- A providence map, more or less accurate.
- to know where your base is
- some scents.
How to :
First, pick up the scent and start to track. Easy. For my example, I took a larceny scent in providence.
Second. Go to the Providence Statue, it's quite easy to find on the map, it's the black rectangle in the middle of the town.
Take a screenshot (see image 1), copy paste in on paint.
Port home, do the same.
You should have this :
[Map removed to protect her]
Then starts the complicated part.
Take your map, draw lines according to the tracking arrows.
[Image removed to protect the owner]
Put those lines on the map. That's where a third base would be useful but... I don't have a third base, so whatever. Then tadaaa, you have a more or less accurate location.
[Removed image again]
It takes 10 minutes if you're not used to it. Now, knowing where it is on the map... Well you have a map, you can lend a horse, and go there to see what's up. Buuut we're poor people, horses are too expansive for us :p
So there. Good luck !
Cheena wrote: I found the match. Jesus. Alleluia. Some [flying] baby match but I found it.
...ok now I merge xD Sorry for the fuss. I'm just happy ! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH
(just spent one hour trying out to find where darkness may start and where the heck my map and yours could cross, the last screenshot comes from paint and my attemps to make it match)
Cheena wrote:By "eye" more than by "hand" usually. Usually I can recognize a piece of map when I see it. But in this case, it's on the north, and I never went into the north.
So I started by eye, trying to find where is your base but it's not on the map... so... I then tried to compare the files themselves with a program that can find similar pictures, but no result. So then I started to believe that I don't have a single tile matching with yours, and then I thought... Wait. He KO'd in darkness, he must be in the North, and I have one single road leading to north on my map, so he MUST have crossed it.
Then I only had to find where it was matching. Trying to find similar spots. They would think that's easy because biomes are a cluster in most of areas and particular spots are easily seen, but... Actually it's a lot easier in big one-biome areas. So now it's merged aaaand...
Your base :
Your walk : (geez that's a long walk btw.)
