To get fish

Since we have fish traps to catch fish
Is there any necessary to fish using fishing pole?
Is there any thing that can only be obtained by fishing/trap?

Frustration and/or the satisfaction of a job well done.

Don't quote me on this, but I think maybe the Jellyfish can't be caught in a trap.

The purity from traps is based on cotton, which is currently a slower grind then the metal that hook fishing purity is based on, though metal purity is getting a rework soon. If you are good at it fishing with a hook/lure will get you fish a lot quicker and let you be more selective in what you catch. The fish types also seem to move about so they are easier to follow with hook/lures.
Traps are also easily destroyed/stolen, unless you claim a pond or small lake and wall it off, which of course would not work for sea fishing.
From what fishermen have told me all fish are catchable with both methods but shellfish I believe are just caught in traps. I'm not sure if jellyfish can be cause in traps.

So if I want to find a spot of any fish to put a trap, better judge it by fishing, right?
12 fish hook = 1 iron and the wiki says" baits have a 99% chance of hooking a fish" so 1 iron = 12 fishes, still expensive...

Fishing isn't very good in my opinion anyway. It's way too hard gather the ingredients to make 90% of the fish recipes and there are not very good for gluttony in the end (because it's too hard to grind those pesky fish traps).
