Combat, wildlife

While I know this is widely know, I think it should be visited at some point.

It's entirly possible for a character to kill deer and bears, wishpoosh without actually fighting the monster using stomp behind a wall, safe in their claim. This avoids the logic of the wishpoosh murder ability since he can't kill what he can't reach.

I used this method, I know a lot of people do, or at least they might now.

It's pretty simple to aggro said mob, run to your base, gates closed and stomp it to death, open gate while stunned and stab, repeat. I took a 45 humor alt and downed a 150 health bear. I don't think that's intended.

An easy fix would be to push some logic on all animals that if they are in combat, and can not find their target they do an a
Aoe skill causing the player to KO immediately, then animals that have murder ability can then decide to do that or not.

Also halberding through fences works.

well, if your problem is with logic, a one hit ko aoe skill that maybe can permadeath you is not a solution imo. i think the better would be a more racional ai for an animal: if it cant reach its target, it will try to run away from it. also, i think that any animal instinct in real life would be to run away when in low life, the most animals will want to survive and are not up to fight to the death. i think this would be a nice change to hunting deers.

Sure I'm all for a change in any direction. My suggestion was one that harvests the most tears. And pretty much grants said animal a 100% chance to punish you for screwing with their logic, even if their logic is dumb.

This is more an Idea & Innovations Thread than a bug. The solution that brings the most tears is not always the best one, in fact this one doesn't even make much sense. We have some crazy animals but they don't have magic powers. Besides pilgrims already didn't hunt with swords, they used guns that using killed it outright. What's wrong with running into your base, irl hunters often try to minimize their risk or injury, running behind a wall and killing the animal from there makes sense.

It's a bug, since it's not working as intended. JC has made improvements with the wishpoosh but it's still possible to bug kill it with no penalty.

I am sure he said he will be pushing teleportation logic onto animals / creatures at some point, so if you try to bug kill them, they will teleport to a place were they can attack / kill you.

Sounds like its not implimented yet, maybe you just gave him some incentive to roll it out faster now.
