If we have a burning post we could 'fuel' it with evidence of witchcraft - not even nessasarily from the witch being 'burned'

That. And we can burn anyone even if they are not a witch.

Well i was going to add some more last night about how i feel the witch trials would work, but was waiting for a response, but here goes.

I feel it would require evidance of witch craft(scents), and require the witch to be in the providance town center to punish them (Makes it even more risky to come to town as a witch). When you have the witch in the town center and a scent from the abuse of the dark arts, you should be able to put them in either a dunking chair or depending on how serious the witchcraft scent is, maybe burning them directly on a cross.

I am unsure on the tiers of witchcraft scents, like with normal scents you have from the ability to only track(knocking someone out), to revenge or even TbC, summon only etc. Each scent has its own attributes and such, this should also be done with witchcraft scents, the petty scents will allow little punishment why the stronger the scent (using more complex and dangerious spells) could even cause perma death of the witch.

I feel it should be very hard to kill a witch using these punishment methods, however they should take serious damage to biles, statistics, glutton timers etc. It would take co-ordination with other players to fully punish a witch, making sure they have gathered plenty of evidance against them, ready to send them to the trials.

For example, The Witch comes to providance, Player A has a scent of the witch, and notices she comes to town. He quickly uses his scent of the witch on the priest? and the witch is arressted and sent to the dunking chair. Each unique additional scent you bring to the dunking chair of the witch, causes the chair to be dunked, Causing serious damage to the witch, -10 biles, -5 x2 random stats, +10 hours to glutton timers etc, Basically a witch version of our stocks, but x100 more lethal, but requires unique witch scents to cause a dunk each time. So collecting hundreds of witch scents and saving them would become a hobbie to punish witches. If the witch is dunked enough times (lots of unique scents have been provided and she has been dunked +10 times), this indicates she is clearly a witch as she has not died from being dunked so many times, and now is moved from the chair onto the cross. From here i feel it could be a community effort to either kill or release the witch, however if a maximum tier witch scent is brought to the cross (A witch murder scent), the witch is instantly executed without a vote.

EDIT: The witch is in the chair for 24hours, and not enough scents are brought forth to have the witch scent to the cross to be burned, they are released, with just the punishment of the stat reduction from the dunks.

I could futher expand this suggestion or fill more in / make it an easier read, but ill need to smoke a few joints first.

Feel free to expand on this suggestion.

EDIT: I need to think of how, but it should be possible for a non-witch to also recieve punishment of the witch trials, but more of a false positive, but would require normal pilgrims to drop witch scents. Maybe this could be done with a curse from current witches ?

Example : Witch curses a raider with a curse which causes the raider to drop witch-craft scents instead of normal scents. The Raider goes on a rampage leveling bases, and knowing this the witch follows the raider from the backrow, collecting his "Witchcraft scents" he drops from raiding etc. The witch then quickly give the evidance to a friend, who waits in town to punish the raider as a witch.

This was apparent normal diversonary tactics used by witches during the times, to get non witches punished causeing innocent bloodshed, which gave the witches even stronger powers. This could be a requirement to unlock Level 3 of witchcraft, requireing you to get innocent blood spilled as a witch.(Could be used as part of the End of the world, JC spoke of in expiditions)

EDIT: Maybe this will ensure raiders to use the priest to cure them alot more often, most of all before they go on a raid.

PS: please excuse any spelling errors.

sounds like someone had some arguments with a witch and wants to dispose of them without actually having to best the witch.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Got plenty of witch friends, never had a problem with any.

To "Dispose" of a witch using the method i mentioned above, would require ALOT of mistakes by the witch as well as a combined community effort to get a witch killed, most of the time, it would reduce the witches stats by some, then allowing them to go.

Did i not mention they are in the chair for 24hours only, and if they do not bring enough scents to get them moved to the cross, they are released?

EDIT: however, if the witch becomes sloopy, and drops many scents, it would be very unwise to come to providance, as you be assured they will most likely take serious statistical damage and/or die.

@Kandarim, you shouldnt have to fight a witch in combat to have them killed, this are what the witch trials were for, also non witches can be damaged/killed by the witch trials in "mistaken identity", which apparently happened alot. (Witches will need to cause this missdirection, adding further evidance which can get them killed, however causing havoc on the server at the same time)

PS: Would require a witch have Lv2 powers, to cause non witches to drop witchcraft scents, and then if they are capabile of getting innocent blood spilled, it could be a requirement to unlock Lv3 powers. If an innocent is killed, witches can collect Blood of the innocent, which will be used in spells etc?

I hadn't read your amendment in order to allow non-witches to be trialled (realistically speaking, what happened 99% of the time). I still dislike that you could see someone punished that harshly without being at risk yourself.

If i have evidance of witchcraft against a specific witch, whome is currently in providance, i should be able to punish that stupid witch without repurcussions, These are what the witch trials are all about.

1) she dropped scents
2) she is in providance with active scents

Remember if there are only 2-3 active scents of the witch, she will take a minor statistical damage nothing more, as you would need +10 UNIQUE DIFFERENT scents to get her scent to the cross for a vote Trial, however if the witch has a Murder scent active, they can be killed.

Maybe people who use unique scents on the dunking chair drop a scent which allows them to be tracked only ? So the witch can seek revenge, if they choose to track them.

Maybe the single person who uses the Murder scent of the witch on the cross to have the witch killed drops a revenge scent?

Maybe this makes you happy?

How about if one of these witch trials results in the witch not being sent to the cross, all the accusers are subject to a witch trial themselves, or sent to the stocks.

This way there would be some risk involved in attempting to publicly execute a witch, and would require that all accusers work together to find a suitable amount of evidence against the witch (to avoid being prosecuted themselves)

I like the idea that those that are accusing the witch could be sent to the stocks for 'false accusations'. It would make things much more risky.

Only if they fail to get her to the cross (Failing the dunking chair phase), all those who did provide the witchcraft evidance should be punished with the stocks.

If 1 person brings lets say 7/10 of the scents required to be sent from the chair to the cross, but they fail to get 10/10, that single person who donated 7 unique scents, gets x7 the length of time in the stocks. A Real week in the stocks. Ouch. Should also be a requirement to participate in the witch trials, to stop low level alt abuse of handing of scents.

Really does try to make the whole community work together to get rid of the witches.

No, any longer then a day and people we brake out of the addiction that is Salem. A day is long enough, people should not be punished for working harder.
