Well, the last time I fell a tree, I certainly didn't walk to the middle to move it away from the location. I grabbed it from the end I chopped and drug it.

What? You do not lift trees/rocks/piles of dirt/bears above your head?
But yeah, fresh logs should be liftable from anywhere on them just like most other things.

technically, this currently would require them to have a hitbox or a lot of code would need to be rewritten, I think.
Also, felling trees usually means chopping them up where they fell, because I'm not about to lift a god knows how heavy trunk
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

trees should have hit boxes anyway.

usually, they're drug off and processed at a central place. Depending on the type of tree depends on how they get processed on site. Pines and other straight trees just get debranched (right word? forget) while oak and other "branchy" trees might get split/sectioned for easier hauling.

You'd be surprised how much weight you can pull behind you when friction is minimized. Then you start talking horses and oxen used to be used in lumberjacking operations, and yeah, whole trees were drug off for floating down to the lumber mill.

The "over the head" display is just that--a display. No hunter carries a bear over their head, and no lumberjack carries a log over their head. Both are sledged and drug to wherever they're going. My point was that I should be able to grab the tree right there where I chopped it down and drag it off. Maybe that will actually become the mechanic. It's not a priority thing right now as we can at least plan on where to fell a tree towards (beats the system it came from in Haven where you couldn't harvest a tree if it was close to a house, ledge,or other immovable object).

why... why?
Another small bug then: you cannot switch characters while one is in the character creation room (due to it not having a leanto) meaning that you need to hard log out (which for most people will involve closing the client, I think) to switch characters.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

There are two log out commands that will take you to the log in screen, not to character selection. See the UI thread in help.
