Well I think making necklaces little 'achievement' decorations works to a point.

Right now we have

Gold Chain -> "I am Rich"
Hunting Necklace -> "I use the store"

I'm sure we can come up with a dozen or so others that can only be obtains if the player does do 'certain' achievement-like things. The problem and beauty is that they will always find their way into circulation from those who raid or kill the achievers.

Making them soulbound makes perfect sense though. It belongs to you forever and ever. Sure. Until you die. Which is basically the same as the necklaces now except that you can unequip necklaces and I would guess that in the case of badges you could choose or not to show it.

So if someone loses their expedition necklace/badge, due to getting killed raided it says, "I was better than the person who was good in the expedition." for the new person... is this not the point of Salem, you can have nice stuff but only if you don't let someone take it from you.

There is no reason something like a badge should not be stealable, if it exists it should be stealable. It good to see JC reject the idea of creating soulbound items, decorative or otherwise.

You can't steal the statues in the graveyard can you? Nor can you draw your face on them. That would be funny though ;p.

Military Ribbons and medals just for looks that can be achieved in various ways. on examine would have name of who earned it. can be stolen like other items and if you lose it, well likely you did not deserve it but will keep name of who earned it.

This. The same way as clothing shows the person crafted to it. Medals would show who the medal was attuned to.
