tbh I don't care what other countries do. I do not get why people from other countries care whether or not we are well armed people.
An old man was robbed 1 town over, he had his head beat in while he was in his bedroom. His shotgun was under his bed. The aggressor thought that he had killed the old man, and was looting the house when the old man shot the robber. That alone is reason enough for me to support civilians having guns. More people are killed by cars than guns, so I would suggest y'all start rallying for 'proper car control' before ya try and take the guns.

wonder how long it will be before europeans in general realize the folly of allowing a bunch of militant radicals with an opposing belief system and culture into their country? and after allowing their governments to disarm them?

just saw three cellphone videos on liveleak, including one where they casually executed a random cop on the sidewalk that stumbled into the situation, what immediately struck me is the number of people on the rooftops of the buildings crouching behind **** and watching completely helpless and unable to do jack **** except hide. this is why "gun control" is suicide and us "stupid americans" covet our weaponry, virtually anywhere in this country if two rabid dogs attacked a magazine office half of that office would be returning fire from their personal handguns and in virtually any city you would not have them nonchalantly strolling down the street shooting people either because one (or all) of those rooftops would of had a guy with his deer rifle on it.

This argument is why the United States has the highest murder rate per capita in the developed world and why we have the most prisoners per capita in the world. If you have unlimited guns you don't protect yourself you only allow everyone to have a gun and kill each other. We have so many more murders in this country it would make you sick. Darwoth's warped view of the world is exactly what's wrong with this country and why America is so backwards compared to Europe. Those 12 people would have died over here also, it just would have been a little easier for those extremists to get their hands on guns over here.

Japan's largest terrorist attack was by a death cult. We have multiple examples (Oklahoma City Bombing, KKK bombings and lynchings) of white supremacist terrorism in this country that has killed thousands. In Europe people always forget that Fascism in both Germany and Italy started with acts of violence and terrorist bombings. Let's not forget what happened in Norway just recently either.

Omg this thread! I agree with Darwoth. Guns are not all that bad. My dad taught us what we needed to know and my younger brother was the one who hunted with him and now teaches his daughter about the usage and safety of guns. I hate hearing about such reckless hate. If you actually look at the amount of guns that people own versus the amount of shootings then I would say that the US is far better off. Just my opinion.

Far better off how? Our murder rate per-capita is 5x that of France, 6x that of Germany and is the highest in the industrialized world. We had 16,000+ gun murders last year. If you own a gun, you are much more likely to be killed by it then to ever use it on someone else.

We have more than one gun per person in the United States and most Americans have no idea how unsafe we are (and not just in the inner cities) compared to Europe, Japan and Australia.

There is a purpose for guns to hunt and stuff like that. Other countries including Canada have similar gun ownership rates as us but our insane gun laws allow different and wider ownership. The price is more murders per-capita and more dead people.

The most annoying thing is that while 3 guys come and murder 12 Frenchmen the best thing Europe can do is to draw more satirical pictures and turn the lights off when Germans protest against excessive immigration.
For centuries islamists tried to get into Europe, resulting in many wars. I am disgusted with the idea of crusades or inquisition. But our current situation shows that we are unable to deal efficiently with this problem in any other way. And this is really sad.
