I think a better course of action than promoting looser gun laws after a horrific mass-shooting would be to mourn the loss of life and make it clear that this kind of barbarism is uacceptable. Maybe also educate oneself on the origin of these radical Islamsist groups (that are a fairly recent phenomenon, one might add). I'd recommend that you watch the BBC documentary The Power of Nightmares. That might give you an idea of how dangerous, uncompromising, gunwaving fanatics came rule the world with fear.

The one truly abhorrent thing to do would be to use this as anti-islamic propaganda. Equating these monsters to the muslim faith would be as deranged as to equate all of christianity with The Westborough Baptist Church. That being said, more guns could surely be the answer! True, we've been unsuccessfully killing our way to peace for the last 5000 years but maybe this time we'll get it right!
