Learning what? There are just 4-5 combat moves worth using during combat and that's why we never see any videos on combat, because it's **** as it is right now and as stated by a dev.

And yes, what I proposed in the OP might not be perfect, that's why i said feel free to criticize and proprose other ideas, which is not what you are doing right now.

Darwoth is more experienced at combat that many Salemites. I know trolling is allowed, and even encouraged through most of the forum, but it would be nice of one or two of your posts a day was normal instead of constant, low-grade trolls every single time. Especially here in Ideas.

I agree that Salem combat needs some improvement, but I don't agree with percent based combat. If you have gone to the trouble to get higher humors, you should have some advantage for your hard work. I like the idea of a stance for the fight, but since combat conditions change rapidly sometimes, I'm not sure if forcing the same stance the entire fight is a good idea. The original reason for adding new weapon types was that someone who had fair knowledge of combat could pick the right weapon for a given situation.


Giving the players the ability to switch between stances could be a possible solution to the '****** class system' hated by Darwoth I must admit.

I don't really like the percent based damage system. We already have the musket for that. Also have you considered how your system would affect the PvE? Would animals and monsters do percent damage after that and would you damage them the same way?

Also I wanted to add a new perspective to the mix through team based combat. I think group fights are most interesting in Salem and much closer to historical reality than simple duel. If a town was raided back at the time, a militia would emerge to defend it against the group of raider. I should perhaps create another topic to discuss how to enhance the combat mechanics of this particular kind of fight in another thread but I was just wandering if you had any ideas/opinions on that.
