Fireplaace lit, but not burning

Postby gacekssj4 » Sun Dec 21, 2014 1:26 pm

I placed one fireplace, which is working fine.
Then I placed other one near. Put some branches into it, put clay pot with water on it. Instered bark, then Lit. It's lightened, but does not seem to boil anything nor procuding charred milkweed.

You have to wait till the red scale will start filling up. Gonna take ~15 minutes.

It needs to "heat up"?

have you ever tried placing 5 liters of water over a fire ? it won't boil instantly, it needs to gain heat before boiling.
It's especially going to take time if you place it over the campfire and THEN light it as the fire needs to get hot enough to overcome the amount the water naturally cools from it's surface.
