I usually just keep it open all the time, up near my humor bars.

Yeah but it closes every time you disconnect so it is annoying. In game design most changes should be taken considering the ease of access by the player. In this instance I don't see the benefits of having the toolbelt acting this way.

The fact that Im not dumpng my tool belt into a container every time I use my use my mouse wheel is worth far more then the two clicks it takes to open my tool belt once each time I log in.

Idea: Flower patch
Cost: Crafted with one of each of the flower curos
Result: Changes a single tile of dirt into a decorative tile of flowers.

Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I also though about this idea. Would be fun to have some gardening plants grow on the ground forever. But maybe a bit more visible than just forageables. Of course you'd need to water those patches (maybe more than usual when on the desert biome) and any other nurture activity. And an inspirational related to flower patches would be a flower that is blooming even though you didn't care for the flowers.

I use the standard since I plan on doing tutorials and other videos on Salem, I dont want to confuse new players by using a client. Plus, unlike Haven, the Salem client runs well and has very few issues.

Idea: Posie
Cost: Crafted with flowers
Result: An item you can craft, carry and 'sniff' (takes a use) to give you a small buff in avoiding sickness. (I know we have the berry juise, this is more something you can craft on the fly when you have no other choice)

Ideas: Roads.
Cost: Same as regular roads that you build with the paving tile command.
Benefits: In addition to the increased movement speed, you could get silver for anyone walking on it as if it is a trade road.
Cons: Obviously that would increase the visibility of your base for raiders and it would cost a lot to link your town with another town or Providence (especially if you are far away).

I think that would be cool to see roads starting to get build and it would be a way to see civilization spread far and wide.

You don't think rats would be able to crawl down into mines? I think they would be able to.
