EULA Killed my characters...

Postby Reus_Muku » Thu Dec 11, 2014 3:10 pm

My brother was playing his account on Salem he went offline for about 5 minutes. He relaunches the game and when he tried to log in said to go to the forums to read the EULA agreement...He did, and accepted. Upon Accepting he can log back in, but now all my characters are gone, just vanished.
So...all his progress is gone because he accepted the agreement?

And why the hell did he have to accept the agreement all of a sudden? We been playing for a few months, and just blink of an eye, poof, all gone...all his progress deleted.

There's a search box at the bottom of the character selection screen, try clicking in it and back spacing. Accepting an Eula wont delete your characters :|

We made sure nothing in box was checked...made sure nothing was in the search box...Backspaced the empty filter...still nothing happened.

That fixes it 90% of the time.. You may have to wait for a mod on this one, but I assure you, the only way to loose a character is by him getting permakilled, he's not gone forever.

You only need to accept the EULA on an account that you haven't logged into since the EULA was changed, which was around June or July, so there's no way you'd have to do that on an account that you've played on during the last couple of months. My guess is that he accidentally logged back into a different account, rather. Perhaps you have two accounts with very similar names, like differing only in case, or something? (Account names are case-sensitive.)

*sigh of relief* Thank you, that was a relief, the old account I couldn't get to work for him back in the day, so when it worked the 2nd time back then I thought it didnt take 1st time. You are a life saver thanks (well months if life saving).

Backspace and delete the empty filter. I somehow managed to get a space ahead of the cursor, and backspacing didn't help.

I'm actually quietly proud of this achievement of mine.

I know your issue is sorted, I just thought I'd mention it anyway.
