its real hard to read, follow the actual story, and remember all the names, their relations with each other, and what they all did etc etc i kind of gave up. I already had to watch several times the series to understand everything. Like when i watched s4 i had completly forgotten the Mountain was the Hounds brother and stuff like that. Which book has been your favorite so far? I might try reading again. I know I should.

A Storm of Swords was the best book of the series it kinda went downhill after that but you can't match perfection.

Because after it GRRM decided he didn't need no editor and filled 2 books with filler characters and events that did not drive the main arc at all or very little. Dorne pretty much filler, Vikings a lot of filler just to give us Euron which was decent, Daenerys omg move already nobody cares about the slave cities, Cersey we get it already incompetent spiraling into madness. Quentin useless. Heck he even managed to make Tyrion chapters boring. They're not bad books but they aren't Red Wedding material. And Jon Snow ending like anyone is buying that.

but...they're so lame ._.
Especially compared to the Lannisters (tyrion by himself is like more interesting than their entire house) :? why do u even like them? guess its not because of the show

Sorry. Should have indicated that. I'd rather read the books before the movies or shows myself. I like to know what they did and didn't do, and so often reading the book after feels like a waste of time. (the novel was either too shallow and they got it all in the movie, or the style just isn't as interesting to me, etc.)
