It is and it isn't at the same time. You'd better team up with people, also here you have a main town as a social centre, unlike HnH.
There is no trust in both games, but you'd better find friends to work together = )

Also, the current world of HnH will not accept new players, as there are parties with q1000+ items and monstrous stats, botting as it was mentioned above - giving unbeatable advanatge to expirienced players. Wipe is needed to make game replayable - at least for me )
But as there are no updates, and jorbtars efficiency is pretty low (IDK maybe they are developing like hell, but they posted 3 or so pictures in 1 week and since then - silence) - Salem looks like a better choice for me )

Never listen to this. Never. And never wait for wipe to start playing.
You can buy all those items for a relatively low price and loot half as good things from abandoned sattlements. Also quality multiplier in haven is sqrt(q/10), which means q1000 item is only 2 times better than q250 one. You don't need high stats to enjoy the game, you would need it only if you wish to participate big factions wars, and you can't enter those without being a part of such faction, and if one of these will accept you, you'll be able to build a decent charachter using their industry in no time.

This game has 100% zero trust. If you trust a new person then you are a fool.

Hm, that's maybe my perception of those two games: but I really don't want to use anyones help unless I'm able to do this things myself. What is the sense of playing if you just use all the industry of a big town? Just to raise numbers? Maybe in late game when you've already explored everything, and you know how all the stuff works.

But for a new player, IMHO, the point is in exploring every aspect of the game by your own.
Thats why an old, burdened with people-made structures, thousands of thousands of signposts with 1 branch and rangers that can shoot you through your wall with 1 arrow cause your armor isn't good enough yet - thats why old world is unacceptable for a new player IMHO = )

P.S. dang I hate those ugly hunting signposts...

thats what i did on salem, living alone for like 2month and a half , been on salem for 3months. its not rewarding because all the time my neighbors teamed up against me, i always no matter what ended up at least 2V1,i ended up several times dead just because i didnt want to live with some morons and couldnt keep defending my bases alone. its ridiculous. solo players on salem / hnh surely had more experience/skills than me in this type of game if they succeeded.

Why do you have neighbors in the first place?

Should of invested into high q armor or make your vclaim bigger with a outer sniper protection wall. This is one thing that i have never been worried about. If thats whats holding you back on haven then you got more problems then that.

Shooting people is on the contrary an early world thing. After first couple of months most people won't even bother carrying a sling with them.
