I investigated and suspect he was trying to right click a barrel on the trough, not a bucket.

Now someone told me how to screen shot i will when i get off work but impossible to fill with barrel i would have to lift the barrel . I take bucket out of inventory right click the barrel it fills up with milk of lime then I right click the clay trough but nothing happens

1. Fill a bucket of water
2. Add a Lime to the water to make Milk of Lime
3. Pour the bucket into the trough.
4. Start digging any soil (need to have shovel equipped) until you get at least one clump of dirt (your character will be Shown carrying it above his head).
5. Walk back to the trough and right click on it to start making clay from the dirt you are carrying, one piece at a time. Each clump of dirt dug up has a 100% to turn into clay as long as the tub has liquid in it, at which point you cannot continue and need to dump the remaining dirt.

That's what im doing. I have a barrel full of milk of lime. Does it need to be a certain concentration level

Yeah, I think one piece of lime per ten liters of water is the minimum.
