You will see a return of rangers ^^

I'm new around here. What's a ranger specifically?
I would guess some sort of aggressive playstyle.

A ranger is a person who hunts criminals.

But due to the nature of the game, and dropping youre own summonable scents upon killing a real criminal who commited a summonable crime, it rarely happens.

If this pvp/summon machanic is reworked as dallane seems to suggest, Real Rangers will be able to hunt real criminals without repercussions.

I never said this and I hope it doesn't happen this way.

Will equipped clothes, purses, tools, and weapons also be stealable from a characters leanto / character without a leanto?

Or is this just about inventory slots?

(First off, I don't mind the no alt vault part of this. I think that's a bad mechanic.)

So let me get this straight...

A weak new town get's waste claimed by a large powerful faction. Not only will they be able to destroy the weak towns entire base which they may have spent months building, they will also now be able to loot every last piece of perfectly slotted clothing, item, and tool off the weak town's unscented, unsummonable, totally crime free characters?

You don't see a problem with this?

There is absolutely zero reason for anyone without a fortress to buy any piece of clothing, tool, cape, hat, or item from the store ever again. All a powerful faction has to do is destroy every base they come across and steal all the items off the minor town's and bases's characters to accumulate an even larger hoard of store bought items. They of course have nothing to fear because the other players who don't have 400 stat guys can never break through their brick wall unless they glutton for months and months and months.....

How can you possible think this is going to help this game grow? All it's going to do is feed the big factions even more stuff.

I see nothing but causal players who bought an item or a pack, who don't read every last scrap of the forums rage quitting the game for months.

this totally. any response JC?

Yes.

It works both ways? Would it be possible put stuff into inventory through leanto?

They will be giving Rangers some much needed tools. Getting justice will no longer require a lengthy siege through a vault to get to their lean to, rangers will be able to challenge them to a fight in such a way that the criminal would be foolish to refuse because if no one meets the challenge then the criminal is incredibly vulnerable, even if it's suicide accepting the challenge would be a much more fun way to go. Along with that there shall be an alternative to murder that shall make it so that the criminal will never want to do a crime again. But said alternative will only be available if you have evidence on someone. Said alternative will not leave a summon able scent. It will be similar to beat face, except more severe and the only way to get rid of it is death.

Overall it will make it so rangers can go without committing any major crimes.
