Losing your inventory will entirely depend on if somebody can get access to your leanto or homestead where they can then loot it.

So many leantoless alts with crappy clothing standing around in Boston hoping to be looted for tracking of the stupid. Will there be a way to see what you might loot from such an alt before dropping a scent, or do you take your chances on committing crimes for crap?

How will this work for characters who have their leantos destroyed will their inventories be lost with their leanto?

I was under the impression leanto-less alts would just risk manual nerfbatting by JC's hand should they be stashing actual valuables. Not sure how else this could work unless manually, as a fresh player that hasn't yet figured out how to use the wilderness port shouldn't really be nerfbatted of any shop items he might've foolishly bought before figuring out the game, or of any gear that he might've acquired before acquiring the meatballs to venture out into the uncharted territories and potentially meeting the Skarran menace!

There is a giant tutorial window telling you to talk to the Wilderness Guide. Anybody who fails to do so deserves to lose everything they got.

Why even give people the option if it's now mandatory? Just automatically wilderness port them and change the window to "Port to providence and check stuff out". Many a time since I started playing have I just started walking with a mate up the coast, or whichever way, just exploring stuff without settling at all, with the purpose of settling near darkness and raising chars there. There are lot of scenarios that I understand you don't want to get into debating right now, but that I do hope have reasonable solutions. You seem to be embracing the stance of "no reimbursals" , which is cool and all, but don't put people in the position to lose stuff that they then won't be reimbursed. And i'm not talking 40 day old chars that just now started playing or what have you. I mean edge cases like fresh players just starting out that look around, have to go eat dinner, get patch-slapped in the meanwhile and then QQ here to no avail.

I will gladly include a warning that says failing to complete the tutorial will cause a complete and total loss of all your stuff.
