711 players / day
that's about 30 unique players / hour
that's 2.5 unique players / 5 min

assume the average game session is 1h , √((x * y)+(z²/α))² we should have +/- 75-150 unique players online at any given time

ps: math formula found under the influence of LSD & THC

Yeah you guys should make a massive update and by that take an advantage and advertise and write everywhere that it has a MASSIVE update. I heard that pvp combat will be revamped or smth, that makes a good time to advertise :twisted:

I just find out that you guys have made another game callled haven & hearth. It says that it has currently playing 314 players so you mean that game has more players than salem ??? Or the statistics are daily ?

Haven is a project of Salem's former devs and it is indeed more popular than Salem. You can see 1500 people online after world resets.

The game is getting some pretty large updates every month, but it's just not ready for advertisement yet. Be assured, there is a plan for that, but it won't begin until after the tutorial has been updated. It won't help the game population much if we get a large influx of new players and they all have the kind of learning curve new players have now. Right now, most new players have to stumble around blindly or rely heavily on a wiki to get started, the tutorial will help a great deal with that so there's no point encouraging new people to come play before we get that mechanic in.

It'd be best to let players experience game in its finished state from the get-go. That way they won't end up with the same biased opinions of later mechanics based on earlier mechanics, like I am. For example, I can't imagine how a newbie could ever cope with making a stone wall for their base now compared to before, and that's very much the case because I know what it was like before. For a fresh player, while it might still seem like a chore, he won't have the added frustration of knowing he could've done it faster in the past, but instead will only have a potential for improvement from, what is to him, the fastest he's ever chipped. So all in all it'd be better publicity to just advertise a very polished product with all base mechanics already finalized into a form that makes them work well with one another.
