PVP patch hits in december. For the time being things are still quite carebear. Even after PVP patch Providence will stay that way. If you are looking for carnage and chaos at every corner your best bet is to hold out for expeditions.

If it was the first purity nerf that led you to take a break, you might not be too excited with the changes. They did a bigger purity nerf by making 11% (a 2x multiplier) the cap and now it's a longer grind to get there. Farming and cooking are more mindless and grind-y than they used to be.

There are some cool new things - witchcraft and animals that can kill you.
