Players are simply required to watch their character and make sure weird things are not happening to you.

Did some of your trees not come in? Maybe you are cursed?
Did you not find the animals you wanted when you were out on a hunt? Maybe you are cursed?

Did you forget to refill your pot with water before putting it on the fire? Maybe you are cursed?
Did you accidentally hit the stomp hotkey when you meant to hit the thrust one in a fight? Maybe you are cursed?
Did your neighborhood lose power when you were engaged in fighting a rabbit? Maybe you are cursed?
Did your girlfriend or significant other tell you the baby isn't yours? Maybe you are cursed?
If you pay attention to everything that is going on around you, you should be able to figure it out.
Why troll the announcement threads? This is where all the noobs and future players are supposed to come for information about the game mechanics. Some of them will probably believe your first couple of lines.
